Briggs and Stratton 402707

Briggs and Stratton 402707The Briggs and Stratton 402707 is a 655 cc (40.0 cu·in) two-cylinder air-cooled four-stroke internal combustion gasoline engine, manufactured by Briggs and Stratton.

The B&S 402707 engine has cast iron sleeve, an L-head (sidevalve) design and a vertical PTO shaft. This engine is equipped with float type carburetor and a flywheel magneto ignition system. The B&S 402707 engine used a full pressure lubrication system.

A 87.3 mm (3.44 in) cylinder bore and 55.0 mm (2.16 in) piston stroke give the B&S 402707 engine a total of 655 cc of displacement.

This engine produced 16.2 PS (11.9 kW; 16.0 HP) at 3,600 rpm of horsepower and 34.8 N·m (3.5 kg·m, 25.6 ft·lb) at 2,700 rpm of torque.

The breakdown of the engine code is as follows:

  • 40 – Displacement
  • 2 – Basic design series
  • 7 – Vertical PTO-shaft
  • 0 – Ball bearing, Flange mounting, Pressure lubrication
  • 7 – Electric starter
