Kohler CV16

Kohler CV16The Kohler CV16/CV16S is a 426 cc (26.0 cu·in) single-cylinder air-cooled four-stroke internal combustion gasoline engine from the Command PRO series, manufactured by Kohler Co.

The Kohler CV16 engine has an OHV (overhead valve) design, an aluminum block with cast iron cylinder liners, vertical PTO-shaft, full-pressurized lubrication system. This engine is equipped with a carburetor (Nikki or Keihin) with a fixed main jet and dependable electronic magneto ignition system.

A 90.0 mm (3.60 in) cylinder bore and 67.0 mm (2.64 in) piston stroke give the CV16 engine a total of 426 cc of displacement. The compression ratio rating is 8.5:1.

This engine produced 15.2 PS (11.2 KW; 15.0 HP) at 3,600 rpm of horsepower and 33.2 Nm (3.4 kg·m; 24.5 ft·lb) at 2,400 rpm of torque.

The breakdown of the engine code is as follows:

  • C – Command series
  • V – Vertical PTO shaft
  • 16 – Numerical designation
  • Version code
    • S – Electric Start
    • T – Retractable Start
    • ST – Electric/Retractable Start
