The Nissan Z22S is a carbureted 2.2 liter (2,187 cc, 133.45 cu in) straight-four, four-stroke cycle gasoline from Nissan Z-family. The Z22 engine was producted from 1980 through early 1983.
The Nissan Z22S engine features a cast-iron block and aluminum alloy cylinder head with two ignition plugs per cylinder. It has a single overhead camshaft (SOHC) and 8 valves (2 per cylinder).
The Z22S has an 87 mm (3.43 in) cylinder bore and 92 mm (3.62 in) piston stroke with a compression ratio of 8.5:1. It produced 86 HP (64 kW; 87 PS) of horsepower.
The breakdown of the engine code is as follows:
- Z – Engine Family
- 22 – 2.2 Liter Displacement
- S – carburetor
