The Nissan FJ20ET is a 2.0 liter (1,990 cc, 121.43 cu in) straight-4, four-stroke cycle gasoline engine from Nissan FJ-family. The Nissan FJ20ET motor was produced since 1983. From 1984 the engine was equipped with intercooler.
The Nissan FJ20ET engine has DOHC (double overhead camshaft) design with 16 valves (4 valves per cylinder), cast iron cylinder block and an aluminum cylinder head; five-bearing crankshaft. The engine is equipped with Multiport Fuel Injection system (4 x 375 cc/min fuel injectors), ignition system with a mechanical distributor and Garrett T3 turbocharger, since 1984 with intercooler.
The FJ20ET engine has an 89.0 mm (3.5 in) cylinder bore and 80.0 mm (3.15 in) piston stroke. The compression ratio is 8.0:1 for the engine without intercooler and 8.5:1 with intercooler. The FJ20ET without intercooler produced 190 PS (140 kW; 187 HP) at 6,400 rpm of output power and 225 Nm (22.95 kg·m; 166.05 ft·lb) at 4,800 rpm of torque, the later motor version with intercooler produced 205 PS (151 kW; 202 HP) at 6,400 rpm and 245 Nm (24.99 kg·m; 180.81 ft·lb) at 4,400 rpm.
The breakdown of the engine code is as follows:
- FJ – Engine Family
- 20 – 2.0 Liter Displacement
- *– The FJ20E engine wes developed before Nissan used the D to DOHC design.
- E – Multi Point Fuel Injection
- T – Turbocharged

Cylinder block
The Nissan FJ20ET motor has a cast-iron cylinder block. The cylinder block, a monoblock special casting structure, employs a five-bearing-support system. The crankshaft is a special steel forging. The pistons are each fitted with two compression rings and a single oil ring. The crankshaft main journal diameter is 55.0 mm (2.16 in) and crankpin journal diameter is 50.0 mm (1.97 in). Connecting rod center distance is 140.0 mm (5.51 in).

Cylinder head
The cylinder head is made of light and strong aluminum alloy with good cooling efficiency. Camshafts are driven by two-timing chains driven by crankshaft with a jackshaft. Intake valves are 34.5 mm (1.358 in) in diameter and the exhaust valves are 30.0 mm (1.181 in). The intake valve duration is 256°, the exhaust valve duration is 256°. Each valve is equipped with double valve springs.
