The Kawasaki FX801V is a 0.85 l (852 cc, 51.99 cu-in) V-twin 90° air-cooled 4-stroke internal combustion small gasoline engine with vertical shaft, manufactured by Kawasaki Heavy Industries LTd., for general-purpose applications, commercial mowers, heavy-duty industrial and construction equipment.
The Kawasaki FX801V has V-twin design with vertical PTO shaft. The motor uses overhead V-valves; spherical combustion chamber; cast-iron cylinder liners; metal engine cover with integrated cleanout ports; rotating metal grass chopper screen. The engine is equipped with electronic spark ignition and twin-barrel, internally vented carburetor with fuel shut-off solenoid. The motor uses a high-performance lubrication system with high-efficiency oil cooler and double or multi-stage canister air filter.
The engine has an automatic compression release (ACR) system with recoil or heavy-duty shift-type starter. 13A or 20A charge coils, various oil drains, oil pressure switches, and shaft variations are available as an option.
A 84.5 mm (3.33 in) cylinder bore and 76.0 mm (2.99 in) piston stroke give the motor a total of 852 cc (51.99 cu-in) of displacement. Compression ratio rating is 8.2:1. The FX801V engine produced 27.1 PS (19.9 kW; 26.6 HP) at 3,600 rpm or 25.8 PS (19.0 kW; 25.5 HP) at 3,600 rpm of maximum horsepower and 63.0 Nm (6.4 kg·m; 46.5 ft·lb) at 2,400 rpm or 60.5 Nm (6.2 kg·m; 44.6 ft·lb) at 2,400 rpm of torque.

hello, having issues with deciding whether or not i should replace my fx801v ( on exmark s mower) that has thrown a connecting rod thru block, with another new same motor.
I have the same question. Just had my FX801V with only 379 hours throw a rod through the block. I specifically bought this Lazer Z for the Kawasaki engine (had Kohler on previous one). Thinking I made a poor choice.
fx801v versus kohler, which one is better in a 60″ Lexmark laser s
