The Nissan VH45DE is a Nissan VH45DE natural aspirated V8 90° four-stroke gasoline engine from Nissan VH-family. The engine was producted since 1989 to 2001.
The VH45DE used lightweight V8 90° aluminum block with the five-bearings crankshaft and two aluminum heads with two one-piece cast camshafts (DOHC) and four valves per cylinder (32 valves in total). The VH45DE has VTC (Variable Valve Timing Control) system on intake shafts from 1990 to 1995 and “Coil-on-Plug” ignition system with individual coils on each spark plug.
Compression ratio rating is 10.2:1. Cylinder bore and piston stroke are 93.0 mm (3.66 in) and 82.7 mm (3.26 in), respectively. Cylinder head
The cylinder head is made of strong, light aluminum alloy which gives it good cooling efficiency. The VH45DE has VTC (Variable Valve Timing Control) system on intake shafts from 1990 to 1995. The engine is equipped with an electronic throttle body, sodium-filled exhaust valves, cross-flow cooling system, hydraulic lash adjusters. The camshafts are driven by the single-row silent timing chain.
