The Chrysler/Dodge A588 is a 2.0 l (1998 cc, 122.0 cu.in.) natural aspirated four-cylinders four-stroke gasoline engine from Chrysler. This engine was manufactured from 1995 up to 2005.
The Chrysler A588 features a cast-iron cylinder block and an aluminum alloy cylinder head with a single overhead camshaft and four valves per cylinder (16 valves in total). The Chrysler A588 engine is equipped with a Sequential Multi-Port Electronic Fuel Injection system and a Direct Ignition System (DIS).
The compression ratio rating is 9.3:1. The cylinder bore and the piston stroke are 87.5 mm (3.44 in) and 83.0 mm (3.27 in), respectively. It produces 133.0 PS (98.0 kW; 132.0 HP) at 5,600 rpm of maximum horsepower and 175 N·m (17.8 kg·m, 129 ft·lb) at 4,600 rpm of maximum torque.
