The Chrysler A588 features a cast-iron cylinder block and an aluminum alloy cylinder head with a single overhead camshaft and four valves per cylinder (16 valves in total). The Chrysler A588 engine is equipped with a Sequential Multi-Port Electronic Fuel Injection system and a Direct Ignition System (DIS).
