Cylinder head

The L20ET has a SOHC design (single overhead camshaft) with twelve valves (two per cylinder). The cylinder head is made of a light, strong aluminum alloy with good cooling efficiency. Intake valves are 44 mm (1.73 in) in diameter and the exhaust valves are 35 mm (1.37 in). The early versions of L28ET were equipped with adjustable mechanical rockers though these were phased out after September 1982 in favor of hydraulic rockers.
