Caterpillar C1.5The Caterpillar C1.5 is a 1.5 L (1,496 cc) thee-cylinders water-cooled four-stroke internal combustion diesel engine manufactured by Caterpillar Inc., for industrial applications. The Cat C1.5 engine is avalaible in naturally aspirated or turbocharged versions.

The Caterpillar C1.5 engine has a cast-iron cylinder block, indirect injection fuel system, electric starter motor and 12 Volts alternator. The Cat C1.5 engine used a belt-driven coolant pump, coolant temperature switch. This diesel motor uses closed-circuit lubrication system with spin-on lube oil filter, lube oil pressure switch, and lube oil sump.

It has an 84.0 mm (3.31 in) cylinder bore and 90.0 mm (3.54 in) piston stroke. Compression ratio rating is 22.5:1.

Naturally aspirated version of the CAT C1.5 engine produced:

  • EU Stage IIIA emission standards: From 28.4 PS (20.9 kW; 28.0 HP) at 2,200 rpm to 34.1 PS (25.1 kW; 33.7 HP) at 3,000 rpm of maximum output power and 79.9 N·m (8.1 kg·m, 58.9 ft·lb) at 3,000 rpm of torque.
  • U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final emission standards: 24.9 PS (18.4 kW; 24.7 HP) at 2,100 rpm.
  • U.S. EPA Tier 4 Interim emission standards: From 28.2 PS (20.7 KW; 27.8 HP) at 2,200 rpm to 34.1 PS (25.1 KW; 33.7 HP) at 3,000 rpm.

Turbocharged version of the C1.5 engine produced:

  • EU Stage IIIA emission standards: From 31.4 PS (23.1 kW; 31.0 HP) at 2,200 rpm to 40.6 PS (30.0 kW; 40.2 HP) at 3,000 rpm of maximum output power.
  • U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final emission standards: From 24.9 PS (18.4 kW; 24.7 HP) at 1,800 rpm to 37.4 PS (27.6 kW; 37.0 HP) at 3,000 rpm of maximum output power.
  • U.S. EPA Tier 4 Interim emission standards: From 31.4 PS (23.1 KW; 31 HP) at 2,200 rpm to 40.8 PS (30.0 KW; 40.2 HP) at 3,000 rpm.

Power unit C1.5 produced:

  • EU Stage IIIA emission standards: 34.1 PS (25.1 kW; 33.7 HP) at 3,000 rpm.
  • U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final emission standards: 36.7 PS (27.0 KW; 36.2 HP) at 2,800 rpm
