Chrysler PowerTech 3.7LThe Chrysler PowerTech 3.7L (also known as 3.7 EGK or Dodge 3.7L Magnum) is a 3.7 l (3,703 cc, 226.0 cu.in.) natural aspirated V6 90° four-stroke gasoline engine manufactured by Chrysler in Detroit, Michigan, USA from 2002 up to 2012.

The Chrysler PowerTech 3.7L features a cast-iron block and two aluminum cylinder heads with a single camshaft (SOHC) and two valves per cylinder (12 valves in total). The Chrysler 3.7L PowerTech/Magnum engine is equipped with a sequential multiport fuel injection system and an electronic ignition system with a separate ignition coil for each cylinder.

The compression ratio rating is 9.6:1. The cylinder bore and the piston stroke are 93.0 mm (3.66 in) and 90.8 mm (3.57 in), respectively. This engine produces 213.5 PS (157 kW; 210.5 HP) at 5,200 rpm of horsepower and 319 N·m (32.5 kg·m, 235.1 ft·lb) at 4,000 rpm of maximum torque.

The PowerTech 3.7L engine has a cast-iron block with a four-bearings crankshaft supported system. The cylinder bore is 93.0 mm (3.66 in), piston stroke is 90.8 mm (3.57 in) and the compression ratio rating is 9.6:1. This motor has aluminum alloy pistons with two compression and one oil control rings, forged steel connecting rods, and nodular iron crankshaft. The crankshaft main journal diameter is 63.5 mm (2.5 in) and the crankpin diameter is 57.9 mm (2.28 in). The crankshaft is a three throw split pin design with
six counterweights for balancing purposes.

  1. 2010 Jeep liberty 3.7L Chrysler has up grade their ignition coils, why is the secondary coil gone to a higher voltage ?
