GM 1.0 L ECOTEC L5Q / Opel B10XE

GM 1.0 L ECOTEC L5Q / Opel B10XEThe GM 1.0 L ECOTEC L5Q or Opel B10XE is a 1.0 l (999 cc, 60.96 cu-in) straight-three four-stroke natural aspirated gasoline small-displacement engine from the GM ECOTEC family.

The L5Q/B10XE engine uses a cast aluminum block with a cast-iron crankshaft and aluminum head with dual overhead camshafts (DOHC) and four valves per cylinder (12 valves in total). The engine is equipped with multipoint fuel injection (PFI), electronic throttle control, variable valve timing, two-stage variable-displacement oil pump.

A 74 mm (2.91 in) cylinder bore and 77.7 mm (3.06 in) piston stroke give the motor a total of 999 cc of displacement. Compression ratio rating is 10.5:1. The GM L5Q / Opel B10XE engine produces 75 PS (55 kW; 74 HP) at 6,500 rpm of maximum horsepower and 95 Nm (9.7 kg·m; 70.1 ft·lb) at 4,500 rpm of maximum torque. The redline is 6,500 rpm.

The breakdown of the engine code is as follows:

  • B – Euro 6 engine
  • 10 – 1.0 Liter displacement
  • X – Comression ratio from 10 to 11.5:1
  • E – Multi Point Fuel Injection system
