The Kawasaki FH580V is a 0.59 l (585 cc, 35.7 cu-in) V-twin 90° air-cooled 4-stroke internal combustion small gasoline engine with vertical shaft, manufactured by Kawasaki Heavy Industries LTd., for general-purpose applications.
The FH580V has V-twin 90° design with vertical PTO shaft, cast-iron cylinder liners, and overhead V-valves. The engine is equipped with inner vent carburetor; pulse fuel pump and electronic spark ignition system. The motor uses a full pressure lubrication system with spin-on oil filter and dual element air cleaner.
The engine has automatic compression release (ACR) system with recoil or electric starter (12V bendix starter with 12V-15A charging coil also available as an option).
It has a 74.0 mm (2.91 in) cylinder bore and 68.0 mm (2.68 in) piston stroke. Compression ratio rating is 8.5:1. The Kawasaki FH580V produced 19.3 PS (14.2 kW; 19.0 HP) at 3,600 rpm of maximum horsepower and 49.6 Nm (5.06 kg·m; 36.6 ft·lb) at 2,000 rpm of torque.
