The Kawasaki FJ300D is a 0.31 l (309 cc, 18.86 cu-in) single-cylinder air-cooled 4-stroke internal combustion small gasoline engine with horizontal shaft manufactured by Kawasaki Heavy Industries LTd., for general-purpose applications.
The FJ300D engine has an OHV (overhead valve) design; spherical combustion chamber; cast iron cylinder liner; dual ball bearing main journals; K-Twin balancer; float type carburetor with fixed main jet; CDI ignition system; mechanical governor. The engine uses a dual-element air filter.
A 72.0 mm (2.83 in) cylinder bore and 76.0 mm (2.99 in) piston stroke give the motor a total of 309 cc of displacement. The Kawasaki FJ300D motor produced 8.8 PS (6.5 kW; 8.7 HP)) at 3,600 rpm of maximum horsepower and 19.9 Nm (2.03 kg·m; 14.69 ft·lb) at 2,400 rpm of torque.
