The Kohler CH1000 is a 999 cc, (61.0 cu·in) V-twin air-cooled four-stroke internal combustion gasoline engine from the Command PRO series, manufactured by Kohler Co.
The Kohler CH1000 engine has an OHV (overhead valve) design, an aluminum block with cast iron cylinder liners, horizontal PTO-shaft, pressurized lubrication system. This engine is equipped with a two-barrel, side-draft carburetor with fixed main jets and the CDI/MDI or Digital Spark Advance Ignition (DSAI) ignition systems.
Cylinder bore and piston stroke are 90.0 mm (3.54 in) and 78.5 mm (3.09 in), respectively. Compression ratio rating is 8.8:1.
The CH1000 engine produces 37.5 PS (27.6 KW; 37.0 HP) at 3,600 rpm of horsepower and 75.0 Nm (7.6 kg·m; 55.3 ft·lb) at 3,400 rpm of torque.
The breakdown of the engine code is as follows:
- C – Command series
- H – Horizontal PTO shaft
- 1000 – Numerical designation
