The Kohler SV480 is a single-cylinder air-cooled four-stroke internal combustion gasoline engine from the Courage series, manufactured by Kohler Co. The displacement of this engine is 477 cc (29.1 cu·in) for models SV480-00XX, 535 cc, (32.6 cu·in) for models SV480-01XX or 597 cc, (36.4 cu·in) for models SV480-02XX and higher.
The Kohler SV480 engine has an OHV (overhead valve) design, aluminum head and crankcase with cast iron cylinder liner, micro-polished crankshaft bearings, vertical PTO-shaft, and pressurized lubrication system. This engine is equipped with a carburetor with a fixed main jet and an electronic ignition system.
The cylinder bore is 84.0 mm (3.30 in) for SV480-00XX engines, 89.0 mm (3.50 in) for SV480-01X engines, or 94.0 mm (3.70 in) for models SV480-02XX and higher. The piston stroke is 86.0 mm (3.39 in) for all versions. The compression ratio rating is 8.5:1. The SV480 engine produced 16.2 PS (11.9 KW; 16.0 HP) at 3,600 rpm of horsepower and 37.8 Nm (3.86 kg·m; 27.9 ft·lb) of torque.

I need a replacement kohler engine with a vertical shaft, 15 Hp or better to replace the old CV15S. Spec# 41550. The dimensions of the CV15S is 17.7 X 14.4 X 12.7. I think you could go about 1/2 inch either way. Hope you can help.
