The Opel Z14XEP is a 1.4 l (1,364 cc, 83.24 cu-in) straight-four 4-stroke natural aspirated gasoline small-displacement engine from the second generation of the GM Family O Ecotec engines, developed by Opel, at the time a subsidiary of General Motors. The engine was manufactured from 2003 to 2010.
The Opel Z14XEP engine uses a light-weight cast-iron engine block with a cast-iron crankshaft and aluminum head with dual chain-driven overhead camshafts (DOHC) and four valves per cylinder (16 valves in total). This engine used TwinPort technology – twin intake ports with a choke closing one of the ports at low RPM, providing strong air swirl pattern for higher torque levels and better fuel economy. The engine used ECU Bosch ME7.6.1 or Bosch ME7.6.2.
Bore and stroke are 73.4 mm (2.89 in) and 80.6 mm (3.17 in), respectively. Compression ratio rating is 10.5:1. The Z14XEP engine produces 90 PS (66 kW; 89 HP) at 5,600 rpm of maximum horsepower and 125 Nm (12.7 kg·m; 92.2 ft·lb) at 4,000 rpm of peak torque.
The breakdown of the engine code is as follows:
- Z – Euro 4 engine
- 14 – 1.4 Liter displacement
- X – Comression ratio from 10 to 11.5:1
- E – Multi Point Fuel Injection system
- P – Increased power

Frequently found in Corsa D…
Just want to know is the engine still available?
It is still available. It can be found on the newer Opel Astra J, A14NET 140/120 hp, it’s identical to the z14xep engine except now it has a turbo and a different exhaust manifold.
How much is that opel corsa essentia z14xep engine
Does anyone have a part no for the inlet cam for this engine?
For Australians, this engine is in the XC Barina.
Hello I want to know if the 1.4 tigra can seport the 1.8 tiga engen on the 1.4 gear box
Hi I have a Opel Corsa essentia ,it has a oil leak , from timing case cover..or maybe oil pressure switch ..tell me how to sort it out .cell 0662294501
Try the torque settings first to see if they are spot on , that’s what I shall do . but I don’t know the order they are in .regards
O have Opel Corsa Essentia 1.4. Rough starts, fluctuate idling and then starts hunting and sometimes cuts out stop. Please assist. Regards
Please can someone tell me the correct fuel pressure for this engine? Thank you. (It’s on a Twintop cabriolet.)
I had the same problem, hard to start, stalling, rough idle, and i just changed the piston rings and honed the block, runs like new
How much is it
