Yamaha MX250The Yamaha MX250 is a 296 cc (18.0 cu-in) single-cylinder air-cooled 4-stroke internal combustion general-purpose gasoline engine with horizontal shaft manufactured by Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd.

The Yamaha MX250 engine has a hemispherical combustion chamber with V-valve layout; float type carburetor; centrifugal flyweight governor; mechanical splashing lubrication system; Transistor Controlled Ignition (T.C.I.) and recoil or electrical (option) starter. The starter knob position can be adjusted by each 45°. Microwave harden crankshaft and camshaft provide extremely long life. The high-tech exhaust valve (Stellite® coated and tufftride® finished) resists very high temperature.

The cylinder bore is 80.0 mm (3.15 in) and the piston stroke is 59.0 mm (2.32 in), compression ratio rating is 8.4:1. The engine produced 8.7 PS (6.4 kW) at 3,600 rpm of maximum horsepower and 7.2 PS (5.3 kW) at 3,600 rpm of continuous rated power. Maximum torque is 19.7 N·m (2.01 kg·m, 14.5 ft·lb) at 2,400 rpm.
